
Palace Capital has built an experienced team that supports its’ regional property strategy focused outside London.
The Board is made up of three Executive, a Non-Executive Chairman and three Non-Executive Directors. The Board meets as and when required and is satisfied that it is provided with information in an appropriate form and quality to enable it to discharge its duties. All Directors are required to retire by rotation by seeking re-election each year.
The Company has adopted a code based on the Model Code for Directors’ Dealings and will take all proper and reasonable steps to ensure compliance by the Board and relevant employees.

Co-founded the Group in 2010
Neil has over 50 years’ experience in the property sector. He was a founder of Sinclair Goldsmith Chartered Surveyors which was admitted to the Official List in 1987 and subsequently merged with Conrad Ritblat in 1993, when he became Executive Deputy Chairman. Neil was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Baker Lorenz, surveyors in 1999 and which was sold to Hercules Property Services plc in 2001. He was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Tops Estates plc, a fully listed company, in 2003 and remained so until it was sold to Land Securities plc in 2005. He was one of the founders of Mission Capital plc, now Watchstone Group plc, which was admitted to AIM in 2005, and was Executive Chairman until February 2008. He was also featured in ‘Top 100 Property People in Property Week’ in 2003.

Finance Director

Stephen Silvester, a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years in finance, joined Palace Capital in 2015 as Finance Director and brings over ten years’ experience working in real estate. Prior to joining Palace Capital he served for three years as Group Financial Controller at NewRiver REIT, who specialise in the UK retail sector.
Stephen started his career at Menzies Chartered Accountants in the UK before moving to Sydney, Australia for five years where he served as a senior accountant and business advisor for PKF Chartered Accountants and then joined St Hilliers Pty Ltd, a large real estate company based in Australia with construction, fund management and property development operations in both the residential and commercial sectors where he worked for four years during which he became Group Financial Controller and ran the 15-strong finance team.
Stephen has experience across many areas in property finance including capital raising from both debt and equity markets, hedging, securing credit facilities from major institutions for both investment and development finance, as well as listed corporate experience including investor relations, REIT compliance and corporate transactions.

Richard has extensive experience of sourcing and managing commercial investments throughout the UK. After qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 2000, he developed his experience working as a fundamental team member of four Central London property firms including the corporate real estate division of what is now CBRE Global Investors. In 2011, Richard established his own boutique property consultancy, successfully negotiating sales and acquisitions on behalf of a wide variety of institutional & private clients before joining the board of Palace Capital in October 2013.

Senior Asset Manager
2003
Daniel has joined Palace Capital as a Senior Asset Manager having qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2003. Daniel brings extensive experience of asset management having spent 12 years at Telereal Trillium, one of the UKs largest property companies. His end-to-end capabilities encompass asset management, investment acquisitions, project management, disposals and development, as well as day-to-day estate operations. In his last 18 months at Telereal Trillium, Daniel was seconded to NHS Property Services to setup, run and expand their professional services team. Prior to this position, he spent four years at Nelson Bakewell, where his role included investment, agency and property management for blue chip companies such as AXA and Boots.

Asset Manager

Tom joined Palace Capital in September 2019 from Mansford LLP where he was a Director in the Asset Management and Investment Team, responsible for the full life cycle across a diversified UK portfolio. He held previous roles at GVA and BNP Paribas in their Central London Investment Teams.
Tom is a Chartered Surveyor with an MSc in Real Estate from The University of Reading and an LLB from Durham University.

Chris joins Palace Capital Plc as an Asset Manager after three years at Maybrook Properties Ltd. At Maybrook Chris was responsible for the performance and day to day running of a diverse portfolio of commercial & residential UK assets. Chris brings considerable experience from both client-side and consultancy with previous roles at the City of London Corporation and Cushman & Wakefield , with clients including Royal Bank of Scotland, Unilever and BT amongst others.
Chris is a Chartered Surveyor with an MA in Management from The University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Real Estate from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.

Head of Finance & Operations

Matthew Simpson, ACCA qualified, oversees the operations of the finance team and has responsibility across the Group as part of Exco. Matt is also involved with the ESG Committee as well as overseeing the Workforce Advisory Panel.
Previously part of the financial management team at Private Equity firm CIT Group Partners LLP, Matthew is focused on detail and enhancing the structures to ensure the business manages its finances as proactively and effectively as possible. Matthew Simpson is also an avid sports fan, a passion he brings into his work ethos as a competitive and determined individual that enjoys challenges. Matthew is happy to be part of the Palace Capital growth story and help deliver the systems to ensure no detail is forgotten. Matthew has an extensive understanding in commercial property transactions in Central London and across Germany having worked with regional offices in these parts of the world, and looks forward to bringing these experiences into Palace Capital’s regional investment plan.

Financial Controller
Andrew Wolfe, a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, has responsibility for Group accounting and tax, including managing the REIT requirements, preparing Group annual budgets and forecasts, quarterly debt compliance, acquisition modelling and providing the Executive team with up to date financial and property metrics for Board meetings and investor presentations.
Andrew spent 3 years working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Financial Services sector, having an array of investment banking and private equity clients, most notably Barclays Investment Bank. Andrew was also selected to spend 6 months in Stockholm, working at SEB bank, one of the biggest investment banks in Scandinavia.
Following on from his time at PwC, he spent 2 years as a Group Finance Manager for a listed hotel property group, easyHotel Plc, where he was responsible for the restructuring and implementation of new finance systems, preparing the management accounts and board packs, managing the finance team, and preparing property investment proposals.

FP&A Analyst
Tom has oversight of Palace Capital's monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT reporting to HMRC, rent collection reporting and financial interaction with the Managing Agents. He also knows every statistic and data point relating to every property, tenant and lease at all times! Tom has overall responsibility for maintaining data integrity within our portfolio database, supporting the wider team with modelling and the data provided to MSCI for our semi-annual benchmark reporting.
Tom has strong knowledge of financial procedures relating to properties from his time working in the private health sector. Tom studied Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Surrey, where he was awarded an Upper Second-Class Honours degree.

Nicola is a Chartered Secretary with a range of experience in the property sector. Having a legal background, Nicola most recently operated at a senior level within Crest Nicholson plc, a FTSE 250 property developer. In addition to working on a range of corporate transactions, Nicola has overseen the implementation of a number of legal and regulatory compliance programmes. Holding a strong governance ethos, Nicola will ensure the Board is equipped to achieve its growth objectives in accordance with the law and best practice.

Executive Assistant
Chanese is the Executive Assistant at Palace Capital Plc. She joined from Kingsley Capital Partners LLP where she was the Office Manager for 5 years and has previously worked as a Portfolio Administrator at Citibank & Operations Assistant at Flemings Capital Management.
